The biggest reason the infield at Guppy Park is so nice is because of the groomer we bought two seasons ago. But all that changed the week before the July break when the tractor exploded. If I wasn't there to see it myself I would not have believed that the tractor, which had been sitting for over two hours, all of a sudden would explode with a huge cloud of smoke.
Knowing that GBWM pitcher Bob Johnson, who was playing at the time, was a talented mechanic - I asked him to diagnose it. He was able to determine that the coil exploded, which blew oil everywhere, and accounted for the smoke cloud. He took it upon himself to research, purchase, and install the needed parts to get the tractor working. Coil, condenser, and new points later - he got it up and running better than ever and saved the day... the tractor.. and the infield.
On behalf of all infielders at Guppy Park - thank you Bob Johnson!!!
